A research on fusion reactor materials and fusion blankets is guided.Fusion blanket is a component to convert the fusion plasma energy into power generation. High thermal efficiency and long-life blanket is essential to realize the fusion reactors. Students will be guided and participate in the researches at the forefront, such as (1)development of new heat-resistant alloys for high operation temperature and high thermal efficiency blankets, (2) development for joining, heat-resistant coating and anti-corrosion coating techniques for the new alloys, (3) investigation on the corrosion mechanism for the new alloys at high temperature, and solution for the corrosion, and (4) investigation on the mechanisms for radiation damage in the new alloys and improvement ofthem to resist the radiation damage.
