Magnetic shielding to devices such as turbo molecular pumps, mass spectrometers and ion gauges is essential to realize a fusion reactor. We have conducted the performance evaluation of magnetic shielding by the analysis software ANSYS. Further, we launched the testing device which is composed of a Helmholtz coil and a magnetic probe last year.
In the topic, we will clarify the dependence of the shielding performance on the shape, thickness and size of the shields by the experiments using the testing device and the analysis using ANSYS.
