Notice ”Basic digital circuit design and development for measurement and control systems AY2025”
1. Course objectives, Outline, etc.
This is a two-day seminar for students without experience in a practical training format aimed at acquiring the usage of development tools required for system development using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)
In this course, participants will acquire a minimum of preliminary knowledge and practical FPGA usage methods that can be used in research through introductory lectures + hands-on practice with tutorials + explanations so that they can proceed with FPGA development on their own after attending the course.

Graduate students (for all master’s and doctoral programs) from SOKENDAI and other universities. Only those who have been approved by SOKENDAI are eligible to participate.

9. Attendance of SOKENDAI Students
(1) Course Registration
Students who have already registered for courses should also register using the “Online Form”.
Students who wish to register for additional courses must obtain approval from their primary supervisor before registering on the “Online Form”. Additional course registration will be handled by the administrative office.
Students who do not wish to register for courses (for auditing purposes only, not for credit) should also register using the “Online Form”.
(2) Student Travel Expense Subsidies
By registering for the course, students are eligible to receive travel expenses (Student Travel Expense Subsidies) for participation. Students who wish to apply for the Student Travel Expense Subsidies should refer to the following page and apply separately to the administrative section in charge of the graduate school of the program/department to which they are assigned.

10. Credit for Graduate Students of Other Universities
Graduate students from other universities who wish to obtain credits should notify the Educational Affairs Section, Graduate Institute for Advanced Studies, SOKENDAI (kyomu(at)ml.soken.ac.jp) by July 4, 2025 (Fri.) [strictly enforced] by sending an e-mail. The Educational Affairs Section will inform you of the procedure.
If you do not contact the Educational Affairs Section by July 4, 2025 (Fri.), you will not be granted credits. Please note that credits may not be granted depending on the university to which you belong.
*Regardless of whether you wish to receive credits or not, please register for the seminar using the “Online Form” during the application period.
